Night on the town
Bob and Carolyn went on a well-deserved vacation last week. Although they "retired" almost 20 years ago, they continue to work very hard with the Brookside Youth Program—even on vacation, Bob has been contacting friends and donors to keep the operation going. But he's relieved that his wife has been able to rest and recharge, since she is responsible for all the bookkeeping and has been working herself ragged as of late.
With Bob and Carolyn gone, Argelio has been in their house all alone. Argelio, as you recall, is the Mexican engineer who has been living with them and working for Bob's friend; he lived in Canada last year and met his girlfriend there, and he wants to stay either here or there because of the relationship. Last Saturday, he and I went downtown and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. We had a great time talking about Argelio's old band, his life in Mexico and Canada, and our plans in Indianapolis. Argelio is an unflinchingly kind and gentle person, and everybody who knows him likes him.
